<p>A Palestinian Arab suspect from Bethlehem was arrested after allegedly breaching a police checkpoint at the Hashmonaim Crossing, ramming police vehicles, and attempting to run over officers at the scene.</p><p>According to the Israel Police, officers had been preparing to stop a stolen vehicle traveling toward the crossing on Route 446. After the suspect noticed the officers and attempted to flee, police opened fire on the vehicle, saying they believed their lives were in danger.</p><p>The suspect was wounded and is receiving medical treatment at the scene. The Hashmonaim Crossing has been closed to traffic in both directions, and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.</p>

<p>The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security have reported the capture of a rabid female jackal at Dugit Beach on the Sea of Galilee.</p><p>During the incident in which the female jackal was captured, the inspector and another individual who came into contact with the animal received prophylactic treatment.</p><p>The Ministry requests that anyone who came into contact, or whose pets/animals came into contact, with the infected animal or any stray animal in the area of the incident between May 30, 2026, and June 13, 2026, inclusive, urgently contact the Kinneret District Health Office.</p>

<p>Arab media channels reported that explosions were heard in the area of the Strait of Hormuz, specifically in the areas of Sirik and Qeshm Island in southern Iran.</p><p>The Iranian <i>Mehr</i> news agency addressed the incident, reporting that the explosions were apparently "carried out to manage traffic within the Strait of Hormuz." Thus far, no official Iranian body, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) or local authorities, has issued a formal response to the incident.</p>
